In many industries, ‘Field workers’ will most probably require site inductions to work on a service account premises. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is a Site Induction?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A site induction, also referred to as a contractor induction, is a form of introductory instruction that ensures that workers new to a construction site or facility are familiar with the layout and organization of that workplace<\/strong>, as well as with their responsibilities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So how should this be catered for in Field Service?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In many scenarios a ‘Characteristic’ created for a specific ‘Site Induction’ (almost a ‘pseudo certificate’), should .suffice to achieve the functionality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1: Creation of the ‘Characteristic’<\/span><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n


When a ‘Service Account’ is created, a ‘Site Induction’ Characteristic should also be created. This can be be performed manually or as a automatically using a ‘Power Automate’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2: Add the Skill to Field Worker (Bookable Resource)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On completing the site induction, the ‘Site Induction’ skill should be added the ‘Field Worker’.
Please note that ‘Site Induction’ may have a expiry date. For example the induction may need to be repeated in 12 or 18 months. (This feature was suggested by a colleague – I have not got his permission as yet, to name him).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 3: Site Induction should be include on Characteristic for Work Order Or Incident Type <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For all work orders at client premise the ‘Site Induction’ should be included as a characteristic. As each ‘Field Worker’ passes the site induction, this skill should be included in their skills,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
